Virginia A. Brown Brown received her B.S. degree from Baylor University, M-ED at University of North Texas, and Post Doctorate at Texas Tech University and University of California, Berkeley. Brown has been a teacher, coach, and mentor in the sport of tennis for more than forty years. She played at the highest level possible and coach more than ten National Championships at Odessa College. She has published several articles on tennis, a textbook, and received many awards in her sport. The most prestigious of which was being inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 1993. She was also the NAIA Coach of the Year. She coached such players as Anne Smith, (Wimbledon and US Open Doubles Champion), Sandy Collins, (Ranked in the top 20) and World Team Tennis for 9 years. Before retiring, she coached three years at Texas Tech University. She has recently made a career change and is now a loan officer for a large mortgage company in Lubbock, Texas.
